Community Based Rehab Team (CBR Team) began when two physiotherapists who shared a similar dream and passion met in Alice Springs, Central Australia in 2018.
Since then, we have provided physiotherapy services across Australia and Internationally. This Includes remote indigenous communities in the Northern Territory and the Pacific Island of Vanuatu.
We have a broad range of experience working in the NDIS with children and adults as well as Aged Care.
Community Based Rehabilitation is defined as "a strategy within community development for rehabilitation, equalization of opportunities, and social inclusion for all children and adults with disabilities". It is working with the community and families to better enhance the quality of life for people with disability.
We believe that every human has the right to access a quality healthcare service and have the same rights and opportunities, as all other community members.
Our Values are Integrity, Excellence, Collaboration and Advocacy.
Every decision we make is built on Honesty and Transparency.
We continue to take professional development courses in order to deliver the best evidence-based service.
We work closely with a multidisciplinary team from Doctors to Support Coordinators (NDIS) to ensure patients get the necessary treatment and supports.
We voice our patients concerns with key stakeholders.
I graduated from the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at Bond University. I previously studied a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Sciences (Honours) (Exercise Physiology) in Toronto, Canada. With this, I combine my rehabilitation approaches with exercise physiology concepts and extensive knowledge in physiotherapy.
I have provided NDIS physiotherapy services in Alice Springs since its inception in 2018. Since then, I have helped patients/participants with their pain, achieve their goals, prescribe simple and complex equipment needs, involvement in auditing of Aged Care homes to national standards, and delivery of culturally appropriate physiotherapy services. I chose to come to Alice Springs in 2018 due to lack of services in remote regions of Australia. I am proud to work in a culturally diverse remote community.
I am experienced in areas such as aged care, cardiovascular/musculoskeletal/neurological conditions. In addition to private practice and community rehabilitation.
Please contact us regarding my monthly trips to Tennant Creek Physiotherapy services.
I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, and a Master of Physiotherapy. I am currently studying Masters of Public Health from the University of Sydney with a key specialisation in Chronic Disease Prevention.
I have been providing physiotherapy services in a variety of settings for more than 6 years including regional and remote Australia. This includes Alice Springs, Mutitjulu and Hermannsburg. I have had a wide variety of experience in implementing physiotherapy programs for paediatric, neurological, cardio-respiratory and orthopaedic clients. I have experience in treating participants with Cerebral Palsy, Brain injury, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Chronic Disease management and other conditions.
I regularly perform gross and fine motor standardized assessments for children.
We work closely with support coordinators, and local area coordinators (NDIS) to deliver physiotherapy services for participants. We write detailed reports aligned with the International Classification Framework developed by the WHO. Our reports can range from functional assessments, to gross and fine motor assessment, to applications for mobility aids.
We provide Home physiotherapy services through the transitional care program- which delivers 12 weeks of intensive physiotherapy for patients recently discharged from hospitals.
We help seniors stay active and mobile in nursing homes. We also provided falls prevention programs, exercise therapy classes, and manual handling training to staff. We also provide Home Care Packages for Physiotherapy. In addition we see NDIS participants within the Aged Care setting.
A referral for a chronic disease management plan from your GP can give you access to 5 physiotherapy sessions. DVA clients can gain access to up to 12 session per year.
A referral from your GP or insurance company for physiotherapy services related to a work place injury or motor vehicle accident. We can also provide work place and ergonomic assessments.
We provide physiotherapy services for a range of conditions which can be subsidised by most health insurance companies in the clinic, at the gym or at the home.
We provide individual and group hydrotherapy sessions for a range of conditions and disabilities to assist in improving strength, flexibility and decreasing pain.
We assess for mobility equipment and prescription. These can include standard walkers, simple wheelchairs, complex custom wheelchairs, and specialised children's walkers. We also provide simple assessment of a person's home environment which include ramps, rails, shower chairs, commodes. We can assess if a person requires orthotic assistance such as an AFO or custom shoe.
We have mobile parallel bars that we can bring to the persons home. This can help with rehabilitation such as those who have lost their lower limb.
